What a great time in Discipleship last night!!

We continued all of our discipleship ministries at the church (Koinonia ministries) building.

In Adventure Club, Travis Hall taught our children about the importance of church unity. Their memory verse for the night was 1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. (I'll be preaching from that passage next Sunday April 16)

Marko Mircetic did a great job teaching the teens, men, and women on The Nature of God and the Trinity. A high and deep subject. What
a joy it was to consider some of the amazing attributes of God (we all need to think more on the Simplicity of God) and to briefly consider The Trinity. Marko included a really good graphic explaning the Trinity in the handout:

There's also a more elaborate graphic that shows the same graphic with a little more information here: < click there

One final link - There's a YouTube channel called "Lutheran Satire" that is exactly that - SATIRE!
This video, in revealing bad analogies, is actually very helpful in understanding the Trinity better. (My kids love these videos)
BAD ANALOGIES VIDEO

Remember - this is satire - at the very end, the "let's go get drunk" comment is intended to be irony - it's ridiculous that there's a holiday supposedly celebrating something good with wanton depravity. They're not actually suggesting that the traditional St. Patrick's Day debauchery is ok in any way.
Also when they say "The church catholic," what that means is "the universal Body of Christ" - not the Roman Catholic church. The word "catholic" means universal. In the original Apostle's Creed (written in the 200s), when it speaks of "The Holy Catholic Church," is a reference to the universal church, not what we think of as "the Catholic church," which began in the 600s under Pope Gregory the Great, then was further refined in 1054 AD with the Great Schism. Then, in the reformation, which formally began in 1517, true Biblical Christianity was recovered. There's certainly more to say, but I'll stop before this becomes a whole history lecture....

One final thing: Please make it a priority to participate in All-Church Discipleship on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. It's a crucial part of what we do as a church and a big part of how we grow in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. As we all strive to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, discipleship is a crucial component of that. Worship, discipleship, and community are so vitally important to your own spiritual growth. I'm very excited to see how the Lord uses Coram Deo in the coming weeks and months in our own lives and also in the lives of those we reach out to in evangelism. Remember: You need the Body and the Body needs you!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Pastor Rob
